Introduction

This privacy policy applies to mizutama, a hydration tracking app for iOS developed and published by M Visuals Apps. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how mizutama handles your information and how your data is protected.

Information We Collect

None. mizutama does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. We have no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.

Data Storage

All data is stored on your device and is never sent to external servers.

• Hydration records (timestamp, amount, drink type, optional label): Device only (local storage)
• Presets (drink name, volume, icon, ordering): Device only (local storage)
• Daily goal, wake time, bedtime: Device only (local storage)
• Reminder settings (on/off, interval): Device only (local storage)
• App settings (HealthKit integration toggle, onboarding state, etc.): Device only (local storage)
• First install date: Stored in the device Keychain. It persists across app deletions and is used only to determine whether you have used the app before during future updates.
• Widget daily summary (intake, goal, completion rate): Shared only between the app and the mizutama widget on the same device.

We do not perform iCloud sync, cloud backup, or any upload to external servers.

Apple Health (HealthKit) Integration

Only when you enable the HealthKit integration in the settings screen, mizutama writes your recorded hydration amount to Apple's Health app (HealthKit). The only value written is dietary water (dietaryWater, in milliliters).

• When enabling the integration, the standard iOS permission dialog is shown. If you decline, or if you turn off the toggle in the settings screen, no data is written to the Health app.
• mizutama does not read any data from the Health app.
• Data written to the Health app is managed within Apple's Health platform in accordance with Apple's privacy policy and your iCloud settings. mizutama does not transmit this data to any third party.

Permissions

mizutama requests the following iOS system permissions, used solely for the corresponding features:

• Notifications (UNUserNotificationCenter): Used to display local notifications at the reminder times you configure. Notification bodies do not contain personal information.
• Health (HealthKit, write): Used only for the Apple Health integration described above.

We do not access the camera, photo library, microphone, location, contacts, or Face ID / Touch ID.

Third-Party Services

mizutama uses only Apple's standard frameworks (HealthKit, WidgetKit, StoreKit, UserNotifications, SwiftData, Keychain Services) and the open-source library ConfettiSwiftUI for confetti animations. We do not integrate any analytics services, advertising networks, crash reporting SDKs, or behavioral tracking tools. ConfettiSwiftUI is a UI library that operates entirely offline and does not transmit any data externally.

In-App Purchases

The v1 release of mizutama provides all features for free, and in-app purchases are not enabled. If any feature becomes paid in a future update, all transactions will be processed exclusively through Apple's StoreKit, and payment information will be handled within Apple's systems. mizutama itself does not collect or store any credit card or payment information.

Children's Privacy

mizutama does not collect any data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because we collect zero data, mizutama is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) by design.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
