Privacy Policy

Introduction

This privacy policy applies to Salone, an iOS app for beauty industry professionals developed and published by M Visuals Apps. Salone enables hair stylists, nail artists, and other beauty professionals to record and organize client conversation history to improve service quality on future visits. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how Salone handles information and how data is protected.

Information We Collect

Salone handles client information that users (beauty industry professionals) enter within the app. This includes customer names, personal profiles (hobbies, family, occupation, etc.), health and treatment notes, conversation memos, and treatment photos. This data is normally stored on the user's device, and M Visuals Apps does not collect or view stored data. However, only when a user explicitly uses a Pro AI feature, a conversation memo and the existing customer context included to improve structuring, or recorded audio, is sent to the external processing services described in “AI Features and External Data Transmission.” We do not use accounts, advertising analytics, or tracking.

Third-Party Personal Information

Salone is designed to manage personal information about third parties (the user's clients). Beauty industry professionals using this app are responsible for the following:

• Obtaining appropriate consent from clients regarding the handling of their personal information
• Properly managing client data stored within the app
• Complying with all applicable privacy laws and regulations

M Visuals Apps does not view or retain client data stored in the app. See “AI Features and External Data Transmission” for third-party transmission when AI features are used. Full responsibility for data management rests with the app user.

Data Storage

The data handled by Salone is as follows. It is normally stored locally on your device via SwiftData, and Salone does not provide its own cloud synchronization. However, when a user explicitly consents to and runs a Pro AI feature, conversation memo text and the existing customer context included to improve structuring, or recorded audio, is sent to OpenAI via OpenRouter. If OpenRouter transcription fails or the device is offline, recorded audio may instead be sent to Apple's speech recognition service.

• Customer profiles (name, hobbies, family, etc.): Device only (local storage)
• Visit records (date, conversation, treatment menu, memo): Device only (local storage)
• Treatment photos: Device only (local storage)
• App settings: Device only (local storage)

App data may be included in standard iOS / iCloud backups. Backups are managed in accordance with Apple's security standards.

AI Features and External Data Transmission

Pro plan users can use AI-powered features (conversation memo organization, voice-to-text transcription). When using AI features, the following data may be sent externally. [Data Transmitted] ・Full conversation memo text and existing customer context included to improve structuring (name, occupation, hobbies, and known topics to avoid), when the AI structuring button is tapped ・Recorded audio data, when a voice recording is completed [Recipients] ・Normal AI processing: OpenRouter, Inc. (USA / aggregated API gateway), then OpenAI, L.L.C. (USA): GPT-4o mini for text processing or GPT-4o Audio for voice-to-text transcription ・When OpenRouter transcription fails or the device is offline: Apple's speech recognition service may receive recorded audio for transcription. Data is transmitted only when the user explicitly completes a voice recording or taps the AI structuring button. There is no automatic background transmission of any kind. [External Service Data Handling] Transmitted data is handled for AI processing or speech recognition according to each service's privacy policy. M Visuals Apps does not store or access transmitted conversation content or recorded audio. [Note Regarding Client Personal Information] Salone is an app for hair stylists and nail artists to record conversations with their clients. If conversation memos or the existing customer context included for AI structuring contain personally identifying information about clients (names, contact details, health information, family composition, etc.), that information will also be transmitted externally. Please obtain prior consent from your clients before using AI features. [Consent Management] Using AI features requires a Pro plan subscription and explicit user consent on first use. Consent can be revoked at any time from the settings screen. After revocation, no external transmission occurs until consent is provided again.

Permissions

Salone may request the following system permissions:

• Camera (optional): Used to capture treatment photos. Photos are stored only on your device.
• Photo Library (optional): Used to import treatment photos from the photo library.
• Face ID / Touch ID (optional): Used to enable the app lock feature. Biometric data is not accessed by the app and is processed through Apple's security framework.
• Microphone (optional, Pro plan): Used for the AI voice input feature. Recorded audio is normally sent through OpenRouter to OpenAI's GPT-4o Audio, and may be sent to Apple's speech recognition service when that processing fails or the device is offline.
• Notifications (optional): Used for daily visit record reminders. Processed locally on your device.

These permissions are used solely for app functionality. Except for voice recognition used by AI features, no data obtained through these permissions is transmitted outside of your device.

In-App Purchases

Salone offers in-app purchases (Pro plan). Payment processing is handled through Apple's App Store, and M Visuals Apps does not directly collect payment or credit card information. RevenueCat, Inc. processes purchase history and receipt information with an anonymous App User ID generated by its SDK for receipt validation, Pro entitlement activation, fraud prevention, customer history, and subscription analytics. Salone does not send RevenueCat a name, email address, or other custom user ID.

Third-Party Services

Salone uses the following third-party services:

• OpenRouter API (OpenRouter, Inc. / USA): Used for AI text formatting and voice-to-text transcription, available only on the Pro plan
• OpenAI API (OpenAI, L.L.C. / USA): GPT-4o mini (text formatting) and GPT-4o Audio (voice-to-text transcription), accessed via OpenRouter and available only on the Pro plan
• RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc. / USA): Used for anonymous purchase history and receipt validation, Pro entitlement activation, customer history, and subscription analytics
• Apple speech recognition service (Apple / when transcription fails or the device is offline): May be used to transcribe recorded audio
• Apple standard frameworks (StoreKit, LocalAuthentication, Speech, WidgetKit)

Data processing and retention by external services are governed by each service's privacy policy. M Visuals Apps does not store or access transmitted conversation content or recorded audio. Other than RevenueCat subscription analytics, we do not use third-party analytics services. We do not use advertising frameworks or tracking tools.

Children's Privacy

Salone is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
