Introduction

This privacy policy applies to VocaLog, an on-device voice diary app for iOS developed and published by M Visuals Apps. We treat your privacy as our highest priority. This policy explains what information VocaLog handles and how your data is protected.

Information We Collect

VocaLog handles diary data that you record within the app. This includes diary text transcribed from voice, attached photos, names and relationships of registered persons, your trial start date, and settings. However, M Visuals Apps never collects, accesses, or stores any of this data. All data is stored exclusively on your device. We have no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind.

Data Storage

All data handled by VocaLog is stored on your device through SwiftData and the local filesystem. There is no cloud synchronization, no server communication, and no remote data storage. Your diary, photos, voice, and person registry never leave your device. AI-powered diary formatting is also processed entirely on-device using a large language model via MLX.

Permissions

VocaLog requests the following iOS system permissions, used only for required features:

• Microphone (required): Used to record your diary by voice. Recorded audio is processed on-device and never transmitted externally.
• Speech Recognition (required): Used to transcribe your spoken words into text on-device. We use Apple's SFSpeechRecognizer in on-device mode, so audio data is not sent to Apple's servers.

These permissions are used solely for app functionality. No data obtained through these permissions is transmitted, shared, or stored outside of your device.

In-App Purchases

VocaLog offers an in-app purchase (one-time lifetime plan, ¥500). All purchase processing is handled through Apple's App Store. M Visuals Apps never directly receives payment or credit card information. Purchase state management uses RevenueCat (see next section), where only anonymous IDs and purchase history are transmitted. Diary, photo, voice, and person registry data are never transmitted to RevenueCat or any other party.

Third-Party Services

VocaLog uses the following third-party services:

• RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc. / USA): Used to manage in-app purchase state (one-time lifetime IAP). Only an anonymous App User ID (generated per-device, not linked to any personal identifier) and purchase history are sent. Diary, photo, voice, and person registry data are never sent.
• Hugging Face (Hugging Face, Inc. / USA): Used solely to download the on-device LLM model (in MLX format) for AI formatting on first launch. Diary content and personal information are never sent. After model download, all inference happens entirely on-device.
• Apple Standard Frameworks (StoreKit, SFSpeechRecognizer, AVFoundation, SwiftData): Provide core app functionality.

These third-party services are used solely for limited purposes — managing in-app purchases (RevenueCat) and obtaining the AI model (Hugging Face). We do not use any analytics services, advertising networks, crash-reporting SDKs, or behavioral tracking tools.

Children's Privacy

VocaLog is not directed to children under the age of 13. M Visuals Apps does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
